Gwen Young is the vice president of business development and global consulting for Perch Perspectives, overseeing the firm’s business development initiatives and client success. She leverages her extensive background in public policy, international affairs, gender equity, and nonprofit work to provide analysis and strategic counsel on public-private sector relations, agricultural productivity, supply chain development and social inequality.
Prior to joining Perch Perspectives, she was the managing director of the Global Emergency Response Coalition, the first life-saving humanitarian alliance in the U.S., and was a senior adviser at Global Impact, a nonprofit dedicated to building partnerships and resources for the world’s most vulnerable people. An attorney by education, she has worked as a legal, policy, and advocacy consultant for numerous public policy and nonprofit organizations, including the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and Africare, where she directed community health, microfinance, and agricultural programs in various countries across the continent. Gwen holds a juris doctorate in international law from the University of California – Davis, a master’s degree in public policy from the Harvard Kennedy School, and a bachelor’s degree in government and international relations from Smith College.
